Also I read one of the comments that said granite requires maintenance and corian doesn't and I would disagree. Yes granite requires sealing but that basically entails spraying it with a bottle and wiping it off. Corian requires that you scrub it with a sanding sponge and then clean the dust off and this takes longer than sealing would any day.

Cutting granite on-site is doable (they'll usually bring an angle grinder with a diamond blade to tweak the scribing on-site). Polishing a cut edge is less easy on-site. So try and have cut edges terminate in walls or cabinets. Included in this is the sink cutout.
